 | Because life is short, and we all need things to look forward to, we thought we'd make you aware of a couple of book projects being developed behind the scenes. First, we have a full blown anthology coming together nicely, entitled: Origins. Origins will be filled with stories thematically tied around the idea of a character's early seminal moments. Many of us, for example, refer to the superhero "origin story," like the way Peter Parker became Spiderman with that whole spider bite thing. |
Now imagine getting a glimpse at origin stories for some of your favorite characters. Some will be from universes created by the writers themselves, and some will be from characters that are part of our shared lexicon--we happen to know there'll be a Rumpelstiltskin origin story.
We are also kicking off an annual volume we call Imaginarium. Each year we'll collect a select (say 4-5) novellas from some of the best writers in our field into a volume akin to the Legends series. The inaugural volume will focus on fantasy, and year two already has some amazing science fiction potential.
Across these two projects we have writers like Mark Lawrence, Carol Berg, Kate Eliot, Kat Valente, and many more.
